Global Research Policy & Practices Report: Advancing Artificial Intelligence-Supported Global Digital Citizenship Education Год публикации: 2022 Организация-автор: UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) | Shanghai Open University The UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) was established as an integral part of UNESCO by the General Conference of UNESCO at its 29th session November 1997) and is located in Moscow, Russian Federation. IITE is the only UNESCO Category 1 Institute that holds a global mandate for ICT in education.In line with the new Education 2030 Agenda, IITE has developed its strategic priority areas to meet new demands and tasks ahead. The mission of IITE in the new era is promoting the innovative use of ICT and serving as facilitator and enabler for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG 4) through ICT-enabled solutions and best practices. Smart Education Strategies for Teaching and Learning: Critical Analytical Framework and Case Studies Год публикации: 2022 Автор: Shafika Isaacs | Sanjaya Mishra Организация-автор: UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (IITE) | Beijing Normal University This electronic publication about smart education strategies for building the resilience of education and training systems in the postpandemic environment provides a framework to develop appropriate policy and strategy in existing and emerging forms of schooling, higher education, technical and vocational education, and training (TVET), adult education and lifelong learning, including formal, nonformal and informal educational environments. The publication reviews the status of smart education policies in 10 countries. It includes 15 case studies within the six policy themes: infrastructure, curriculum and pedagogy, digital education resources and platforms, skills and competencies, governance, management and administration, and partnership. 
Advocacy for Impact: Gender and Education Год публикации: 2022 Автор: Justine Brice | Elodie Gnonlonfoun | Marina Gutiérrez García de Viedma | Chattalie Jayatilaka Организация-автор: United Nations Girls' Education Initiative (UNGEI) There has been an urgent need to include a gender-inclusive, anti-racist and decolonial lens in advocacy strategies in recent years. In the rare circumstances these lenses were applied, they were not effectively utilised when designing and implementing an advocacy campaign regarding education. Often, an intersectional approach was not used to consider context-specific power dynamics impacting girls’ ability to access education. The first objective of this report is to understand the “best practices to design and implement advocacy strategies that are gender-inclusive and anti-racist in the development sector, with a focus on gender and education”. The second objective was to examine the evidence regarding the effectiveness and impact of different advocacy strategies. Thirdly, the study aimed to understand the “best tools and approaches to measure advocacy impact." This research was conducted by an LSE student research team exploring gender-inclusive and anti-racist advocacy strategies. 
A Review of Research on Teaching and Learning Transformation under the Influence of ChatGPT Technology (Advances in Education; Vol.13, No.5) Год публикации: 2023 Автор: 师璇 | 王绽蕊 Artificial intelligence continues to develop, and recently ChatGPT, which has caught the attention of various sectors of society in the internet boom. Starting from the perspectives of “teaching” and “learning”, this paper introduces the development history and learning path of ChatGPT, and reviews domestic and foreign literature from three aspects: teacher teaching, personalized learning for students, and teaching evaluation. It summarizes the attitudes and views of domestic and foreign scholars on the future development of education under the influence of ChatGPT technology. Ethical Impact Assessment: A Tool of the Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence Год публикации: 2023 Организация-автор: UNESCO As stated in article 50 of UNESCO’s Recommendation on the Ethics of Artificial Intelligence (UNESCO, 2021), the goal of this instrument is to “identify and assess benefits, concerns and risks of AI systems, as well as appropriate risk prevention, mitigation, redressal and monitoring measures, among other assurance mechanisms. Such assessments should identify the impacts on human rights and fundamental freedoms, in particular but not limited to the rights of people in vulnerable and precarious situations, labour rights, the environment and ecosystems and ethical and social implications, and facilitate citizen participation in line with the values and principles set forth in this Recommendation”. This instrument is primarily designed to help government officials (individuals and teams) involved in the procurement of AI systems. The goal of the methodology is to equip procurement officers with the set of questions to ask in order to ensure that the AI systems they are purchasing are aligned with the ethical standards set out in the UNESCO Recommendation on the Ethics of AI.

Guidelines for Implementing SEL in Schools Год публикации: 2022 Организация-автор: Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) Schools that promote SEL help in their students’ academic and global learning. It enables learners to live peacefully with others in heterogeneous societies and build ‘tolerance’ and ethics in behaviour in terms of universal human traits that go beyond social, cultural and gender differences. SEL cultivates children’s wellbeing, and because schools are mirrors or microcosms of our larger and dynamic societies, it is vital that personal and social learning be mainstreamed in schools. The purpose of these guidelines is to share the latest research with policymakers, school leaders, and teachers looking to integrate SEL into school practices and present scientific evidence on creating school environments and recommending practices that are key to building peaceful and sustainable societies.

Of particular relevance are the concrete actions parliaments can take to address and mitigate the prevalence and impact of hate speech on those who are most vulnerable in society, including women, minorities and other underrepresented groups. The objective of this brief is to provide meaningful and practical guidance for parliaments and parliamentarians, as well as those who programmatically support them, on steps they can take to reduce and counter hate speech while fostering peace, constructive dialogue and trust.
