[Summary] Global Education Monitoring Report Summary 2019: Migration, Displacement and Education: Building Bridges, Not Walls Год публикации: 2018 Организация-автор: UNESCO | Global Education Monitoring Report Team This Report points directly to a major challenge: How can teachers be supported to practise inclusion? It offers us fascinating insights into humanity and the age-old phenomenon of migration. I invite you to consider its recommendations and to act on them. This report is a vital toolkit for these compacts. It covers policy issues that address seasonal migrants, rural school consolidation, intercultural curricula, refugee inclusion in national education systems and elimination of segregation, qualifications recognition, targeting of school funding, more effective humanitarian education aid and teacher preparedness for diverse classrooms in emergency, protracted and “new normal” contexts. This summary of the 2019 GEM Report calls on countries to see education as a tool to manage migration and displacement and an opportunity for those needing one.

4th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED: Final Report Год публикации: 2018 Организация-автор: APCEIU This report provides an overview of the activities and outcomes of the 4th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED held in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 20 - 26May 2018.The 4th Youth Leadership Workshop on GCED invited 48 dynamic youth leaders around the world including those from developing countries and representatives of marginalized groups, and focused on developing effective advocacy strategies to maximize youth contribution in achieving SDG 4.7 through promotion of global citizenship. 
3rd Global Capacity-Building Workshop on GCED: Final Report Год публикации: 2018 Организация-автор: APCEIU This report provides an overview of the activities and outcomes of the 3rd Global Capacity-Building Workshop on GCED held in Seoul, Republic of Korea from 29 August - 11 September 2018.APCEIU organized the 3rd Global Capacity-Building Workshop on GCED with the aim of enhancing the capacities of teacher educators in developing countries on utilizing GCED. This 2-week intensive workshop provided participants opportunities to better understand the concept and principles of GCED, while engaging in meaningful dialogues and sharing experiences with educators from different countries, cultures, and contexts, and to develop their own action plans.

Carr, Université du Québec en Outaouais) et la co-titulaire (Gina Thésée, Université du Québec à Montréal) de la Chaire UNESCO. Ces modèles ont été publiés dans diverses revues académiques, en anglais ou en français et ont été traduits et adaptés ici pour produire une représentation mise à jour et bilingue de la recherche sur l’éducation pour la démocratie que Carr et Thésée ont réalisée. Certains de ces modèles ont été affinés (et améliorés) avec le temps et sont des moyens qui aident à élucider, interroger et mettre en évidence le sens des trois thèmes qui sous-tendent la Chaire UNESCO DCMÉT.

Par l’effet de la mondialisation, les interdépendances entre les différentes parties du monde sont telles que ce qui se passe ailleurs a un impact sur nos existences, et réciproquement. Accéder à l’émancipation, acquérir les capacités grâce auxquelles nous faisons face aux faits implique désormais de connaître, autant que possible, le fonctionnement du monde, de s'engager pour le rendre plus juste, sur base de valeurs de solidarité et de paix.La nécessité d’inscrire la citoyenneté et la solidarité dans un contexte international s’est encore considérablement accentuée ces quinze dernières années. Les enjeux du fonctionnement international se sont, en outre, significativement complexifiés. Carr, Université du Québec en Outaouais) and Co-Chair (Gina Thésée, Université du Québec à Montréal) of the UNESCO Chair DCMÉT. These models have been published in diverse academic journals in either English or French, and have been translated and adapted herein to produce an updated and bilingual representation of the Education for Democracy research that Carr and Thésée have produced. In some cases, the models have been refined (and improved) over time, and they are presented as a means of attempting to elucidate, interrogate and highlight the meaning of the three themes that underpin the UNESCO Chair DCMÉT.

Faculty of Education The need to teach how to “live together” demonstrates its problematic nature. Indeed, is not living together problematic because it implies that we must by all means coexist, self and other, that is to say, to “live together” despite difference? Is it really possible to bring about a respect for this injunction through education? Two pitfalls are to be avoided. On one hand, that of an hermeneutical approach to education, which may violate the principle of respect for otherness even as it purports to teach it. On the other hand, that of considering ethics simply as total openness to difference. Between these two pitfalls is a difficult path to negotiate, that of a responsibility to educational choices inevitably bound to betray the Other.
