Youth Participation for Active Global Citizenship: Future Youth School Forums Project Report Год публикации: 2018 Автор: Anna Jarkiewicz | Joanna Leek Организация-автор: Oxfam GB | University of S odz (Poland) The Future Youth School Forums (FYS-Forums) project took place in Cyprus, Italy, Poland, Lithuania and the UK from 2015 to 2018 and was funded by EU Erasmus+. Its aim was to show how creating a group of engaged young global participants requires the engagement of teachers in activities to promote global citizenship – and to provide teachers and young people with the tools to promote effective and inclusive youth leadership across formal and informal education through global citizenship forums.This report on the project looks at the role of teachers and partnerships with students in raising critical awareness of global citizenship. 
From Academic Organization to National Think Tank: A Historical Study on Center for Civic Education (Tsinghua Journal of Education; Vol.38, No. 5) Год публикации: 2017 Автор: Su Yongrui | Fu Anzhou | Hu Qiumei Организация-автор: Tsinghua University Center for Civic Education is the most influential Think Tank in the field of civic education in America. Since 1960s, while American civic education experienced dilemma and reform, Center for Civic Education, at the same time, has transformed from the Civic Education Committee of University of California at Los Angeles to a national Think Tank. This plays an important role in promoting policy-making of American civic education, curriculum standardization of school citizenship education, sustained development of nationwide education programs, implementation of international development strategies, and spreading of American democratic values. With the historical background of American civic education and American modern Think Tank, this paper summarizes the stages of development of the Center. This paper holds that the decisive factors of the Center’s transformation include the following points: building a bridge between “knowledge” and “power” through continuing and effective responses to the theme of civic education at ideological and strategic level, affecting decision makers by forming a Policy Advocacy Coalition with those who have common political beliefs, realizing such functions of Think Tank as setting and guiding policy agenda of civic education, providing effective products of civic education, promoting the international development of American civic education. The report makes the case for a multi-layered approach to peace education which requires a cohesive, coordinated strategy for peace education as a peacebuilding and conflict prevention tool across relevant EU internal and external policies and programmes. 
Comparative study of textbooks: working document in the framework of the Euro-Arab Dialogue; summary report Год публикации: 2015 Автор: Jacqueline Costa-Lascoux | Janine d'Artois Pursuant to the Charter of the United Nations and the Constitution of UNESCO, calling for peace between peoples and respect for cultural diversity, several National Commissions for UNESCO have taken the initiative to create the conditions for a Euro-Arab dialogue in the field of education. The French and Moroccan National Commissions, in particular, have decided to launch studies to highlight stereotypes, misunderstandings and subliminal bias about Arab countries in European textbooks and about European countries in textbooks in the Arab world. First, these studies were conducted by researchers focusing on their own countries' textbooks in order to analyse how the history of the countries on "the other side of the Mediterranean" was represented. Second, a common methodology was developed to allow comoparative approaches favourable to Euro-Arab dialogue. This was to address any mutual bias or misrepresentations that may exist between the two regions and to work togehter to find ways of preventing and combating them. The originality of the approach was to conduct a critical analysis of textbooks published in each country and then underetake a comparative study to be used as the basis for common recommendations. Participants in this project initiated by the National Commissions defined three main objectives: 1. To strengthen dialogue, laying the foundations for learning to live together, based on mutual respect. 2. To help National Commissions for UNESCO, experts, institutions and non-governmental organizations (NGOs) to find ways to work together in areas of research of common interest. 3. To contribute to UNESCO's efforts to develop a stretegy relating to textbooks, to improve the quality of education for peace, human rights, mutual understanding and intercultural dialogue.

As such, water shortages and lack of access may limit economic growth in the years to come, according to the World Water Development Report 2016. From its collection, through various uses, to its ultimate return to the natural environment, water is a key factor in the development of job opportunities either directly related to its management (supply, infrastructure, wastewater treatment, etc.) or in economic sectors that are heavily water-dependent such as agriculture, fishing, power, industry and health. In its analysis of the economic impact of access to water, the report cites numerous studies that show a positive correlation between investments in the water sector and economic growth. It also highlights the key role of water in the transition to a green economy.
