Where Do We Stand on Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education: Findings of the 7th Consultation on the Implementation of the 1974 Recommendation Concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education Relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms 出版年份: 2022 机构作者: UNESCO The Recommendation concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms was adopted by the 18th session of UNESCO’s General Conference in November 1974. Every four years, Member States are invited to report on the measures they have taken to implement the Recommendation in all levels and types of education from pre-primary to tertiary, formal, non-formal and adult education. This document summarizes the results of the 7th consultation on the implementation of the 1974 Recommendation, covering the period 2017-2020. It also contains, for the first time, data for the global indicator adopted by the UN Statistical Commission and the UN General Assembly for the monitoring of Target 4.7 of Sustainable Development Goal for Education.

Take Action for Climate Justice: A Guide for Teachers and Educators Working With Young People Aged 9-16 出版年份: 2022 机构作者: Oxfam GB Aimed at teachers and educators, this short guide contains practical advice, classroom activities and helpful planning tools to inspire and motivate young people aged 9-16 to take action for our planet and its people.There are many ways in which we can all take climate action, from making individual lifestyle changes to participating in collective community responses that target the systemic causes of the climate emergency, and all are important. Taking action can develop young people’s sense of agency, build skills such as leadership and decision-making, and help them to build empathy and manage eco-anxiety. This guide supports young people to take action by sharing the message about climate justice, raising awareness and influencing others to help make change happen.A recent survey by Inter Climate Network found that more than 80 per cent of young people aged 11–18 were concerned about climate change, with half of them already choosing to take climate action. Almost all of those taking action are doing so at home, with only a third acting on climate change in school. Another key finding was that many young people do not feel they have the power to effect change, citing barriers such as a lack of knowledge about what they can do, insufficient time provided in school for positive climate action, and a sense that individual actions have little impact without wider structural change.

EIU Best Practices Series No.44: The Children’s Film Festival for Peace 出版年份: 2017 机构作者: APCEIU This monograph is one of APCEIU's EIU Best Practices Series, which aims to encourage educators, scholars, and activists to implement and share local initiatives on EIU. The Series No. 44 introduces a project called “The Children’s Film Festival for Peace,” designed by a primary teacher in Indonesia to deliver EIU values to children in an easy and enjoyable way through an ICT class. The film themes which covered awareness on everyday social issues such as bullying, enabled students internalize the values of caring for others and sharing through acting, filming and creating. This exemplary project gives students a chance to bring their class learnings to life whilst spreading EIU values to their peers through their creations.
