Global Education Coalition Gender Flagship: Highlights of Action in 2020 出版年份: 2021 机构作者: UNESCO At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, UNESCO launched the Global Education Coalition, an international multi-sector partnership aiming to meet the urgent and unprecedented need for continuity of learning. Most governments around the world have temporarily closed educational institutions at some point in 2020 in an attempt to contain the spread of the COVID-19 pandemic. At its peak, these nationwide closures impacted more than 1.5 billion, or over 90% of the world’s student population, from pre-primary to higher education. The Global Education Coalition selected three flagships, or focus areas, covering: teachers, connectivity and gender. The Gender Flagship is rallying coalition members to work together to highlight and address the gender dimensions of the COVID-19 school crisis and safeguard progress made on gender equality in education in recent decades. This report presents the work of the Gender Flagship in 2020, and its plans for 2021.
EIU Best Practices Series No. 36: Enhancing Student Environmental Sustainability Awareness with Innovative Art Media: A Multidisciplinary of Art and Science Activities 出版年份: 2014 作者: Poonarat Pichayapaiboon 机构作者: APCEIU This issue is one of APCEIU's EIU Best Practices Series, which aims to encourage educators, scholars, and activists to implement and share local initiatives on EIU. The Series No.36 introduces a multidisciplinary programme of art and science activities implemented in Thailand’s Chulalongkorn University to raise students’ awareness of environmental sustainability. Given the country’s large volume of green mussels, there is increasing concern for shell waste management and global warming. As students of varied age learn how shells can be transformed into pigment and clay, and use to create artwork as part of “Turning Waste into Art to Live a Sustainable Life” project, students come to appreciate the value of environmental protection and management. The programme is an exemplary case in which children are educated to live in harmony with the earth, following one of the key pillars of EIU.

The educational reforms of the latter part of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century in the region accompanied this debate: enactment of new laws, changes in the structure of educational systems, curricular reforms, revision of classroom teaching, modification of the teacher training are some of the ways these reforms take. Changes in education systems are also affected by the emergence of new actors, topics and forms of intervention: from standardized international tests and the participation of civil society and non-governmental organizations, to the introduction of content related to issues of gender and sexuality. This book brings together works that attempt to account for the set of changes mentioned, from different perspectives: historical, political, philosophical and pedagogical. It also brings together the award-winning articles from the CLACSO-UNGS essay contest on the right to education within the framework of the Education Axis of the Democracies in Revolution / Revolutions in Democracy program.

Las reformas educativas de la última parte del siglo XX y comienzos del siglo XXI en la región acompañaron dicho debate: sanción de nuevas leyes, cambios en la estructura de los sistemas educativos, reformas curriculares, revisión de la enseñanza en el aula, modificación de la formación docente son algunas de las maneras que adoptan estas reformas. Las modificaciones en los sistemas educativos también se encuentran atravesadas por la emergencia de nuevos actores, temas y formas de intervención: desde las pruebas internacionales estandarizadas, la participación de la sociedad civil y las organizaciones no gubernamentales, hasta la introducción de contenidos vinculados con cuestiones de género y sexualidad. Peacebuilding In Scenes of Violence Intracommunity: Sierra de la Macarena Case Study (Meta-Colombia) 出版年份: 2017 作者: Keren Xiomara Marín Gonzales 机构作者: Universidad de Antioquia After the signing of the peace accords between the national government and the FARC-EP one of the main challenges for the country is the construction of peace in the territories, especially in those places where violence has been political and intracommunitarian To explore the challenges that this type of violence poses in transition and post-conflict scenarios, this article analyzes local dynamics violence and the various victimization processes that arise within the communities. For this, some cases and testimonies collected in a ethnographic work carried out in the Sierra de la Macarena, department of Meta, Colombia, in which the dynamics of community violence and its effects on the social fabric of the communities. Based on these considerations, some limits that peacebuilding faces in this region and it is proposed as an alternative, the articulation between transitional justice and local justice to deal with these scenarios of violence.
Construcción de paz en escenarios de violencia intracomunitaria: Estudio de caso Sierra de la Macarena (Meta-Colombia) 出版年份: 2017 作者: Keren Xiomara Marín Gonzales 机构作者: Universidad de Antioquia Tras la firma de los acuerdos de paz entre el Gobierno nacional y Las FARC-EP uno de los principales retos para el país es la construcción de paz en los territorios, especialmente en aquellos lugares donde la violencia ha sido, a su vez, política e intracomunitaria. Para explorar los retos que este tipo de violencia supone en escenarios de transición y posconflicto, este artículo analiza las dinámicas locales de la violencia y los diversos procesos de victimización que surgen al interior de las comunidades. Para esto se exponen algunos casos y testimonios recolectados en un trabajo etnográfico realizado en la Sierra de la Macarena, departamento del Meta, en los cuales se ilustran las dinámicas de la violencia comunitaria y sus efectos sobre el tejido social de las comunidades. A partir de estas consideraciones se plantean algunos límites que enfrenta la construcción de paz en esta región y se propone como alternativa la articulación entre la justicia transicional y la justicia local para tramitar estos escenarios de violencia.

The region is working hard to overcome a legacy, whereby children with disabilities attended special schools, once wrongly regarded as an effective solution, segregated by type of disability, if not fully excluded from education.The report draws on in-depth profiles of 30 education systems in the region. It also presents the additional risks to inclusion now posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Building on the 2020 Global Education Monitoring Report, it documents barriers facing learners, particularly where multiple disadvantages intersect. Its recommendations provide a systematic framework for identifying and dismantling these barriers, according to the principle that ‘every learner matters and matters equally’.

Banta Jr. | Roy Hellenberg 机构作者: APCEIU Since 2016 the Global Citizenship Education (GCED) Youth Network and UNESCO Asia-Pacific Centre of Education for International Understanding(APCEIU) have been working together to support young people to take action to make their communities and the world a better place.This manual, which is the outcome of a joint initiative by the GCED Youth Network and APCEIU, is intended to provide a useful resource for those who teach GCED, for youth organisations that are engaged in advocacy on themes that relate to global citizenship, and those who are supporting youth advocacy.The manual is organized in three main sections: Section 1 focuses on GCED and the teaching of history as a strategy for building a peaceful world. Section 2 provides step by step practical guidelines and ideas for youth advocacy organisations to help them plan advocacy initiatives. Section 3 includes background information and practical ideas for youth advocacy on a series of themes that are relevant to GCED, including empowerment of vulnerable communities, media literacy and peace building. It also considers the role of GCED, and young people, in global crises, using the example of the COVID-19 pandemic, and provides suggestions to help youth advocacy and other organisations to prepare for and respond to such crises
