Attempts in and Experiences of the Cultivation of Civic Literacy in Modern China (Contemporary Education and Culture; Vol. 11, No. 2) 出版年份: 2019 作者: Zhai Nan 机构作者: Northwest Normal University The educational reform in modern China takes place in a special context of strong impact of foreign ideas and deep-rooted local culture where the importance is attached to the cultivation of Chinese citizens’ civic literacy. The concept of the citizen and its educational form reflect the influence of western educational thought, while the contents of education stick to the features of the Chinese nationality and modern times. Through an analysis of the publications in the Republic China period, it is found that the scheme was permeated with a strong local awareness, and reflected the combination of the native moral consciousness and the modern western civic concept. It reflects the powerful perspectives of over 300 youth from all over Canada with diverse experiences and backgrounds, such as youth who have experienced homelessness, Indigenous youth, young people of colour, newcomers to Canada and members of the 2SLGBTQIA+ community, among others, as well as individuals from remote and rural communities in Canada.The Roadmap includes 20 recommendations that individual Canadians can take today to achieve gender equality within their homes, communities and beyond. It also includes more than 40 additional recommendations targeted at public institutions, the private sector and governments to help Canada achieve Sustainable Development Goal 5: Gender equality, by the goals’ end date of 2030. However, at present, the understanding and application of the concept of citizenship are still in the shallow and mixed stage. This understanding is not conducive to the systematic cultivation of citizens through school education. Therefore, the understanding of the concept of citizenship should be further deepened, and the attributes of citizen’s equality, public and participation should be extracted with the clue of history, and the logical relationship between the attributes should be clarified. On this basis, civic education can obtain the corresponding level training strategy, and finally incubate the “full citizen”.

The curriculum, intended for school director trainers, is designed to be comprehensive, robust, practical and adaptable. It suggests concrete ways to address anti-Semitism and counter prejudice in and through education, while promoting human rights, global citizenship education, and gender equality.The co-publication is part of a series of four training curricula, designed for trainers of (1) primary school teachers, (2) secondary school teachers, (3) vocational school teachers, and (4) school directors.

It provides a foundation of con¬ict analysis and peacebuilding and describes a learner-centered approach to peace education and community engagement.
