L’action de l’UNESCO en faveur de l’égalité des genres dans et par l’éducation: Points majeurs de l’année 2020 سنة النشر: 2022 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO Ce rapport présente les points majeurs de l’action menée en 2020 par l’UNESCO pour faire progresser l’égalité des genres dans et par l’éducation.L’action menée par l’UNESCO dans le domaine de l’éducation et du genre est ancrée dans la stratégie de l’UNESCO pour l’égalité des genres dans et par l’éducation 2019-2025. Where Do We Stand on Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education: Findings of the 7th Consultation on the Implementation of the 1974 Recommendation Concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education Relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms سنة النشر: 2022 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO The Recommendation concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms was adopted by the 18th session of UNESCO’s General Conference in November 1974. Every four years, Member States are invited to report on the measures they have taken to implement the Recommendation in all levels and types of education from pre-primary to tertiary, formal, non-formal and adult education. This document summarizes the results of the 7th consultation on the implementation of the 1974 Recommendation, covering the period 2017-2020. It also contains, for the first time, data for the global indicator adopted by the UN Statistical Commission and the UN General Assembly for the monitoring of Target 4.7 of Sustainable Development Goal for Education. 
Translation: From One World to Another (The UNESCO Courier No. 2; April-June 2022) سنة النشر: 2022 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO To translate is “to say almost the same thing”, in the words of the Italian writer Umberto Eco. A whole world is contained in this “almost”. To translate is to confront the other, the different, the unknown. It is often the essential prerequisite for those who want to access a universal, multiple, diverse culture. It is therefore no coincidence that the League of Nations took up the issue in the 1930s, envisaging the creation of an Index Translationum.Taken over by UNESCO in 1948, this Index allowed the first census of translated works in the world. Two years later, the Representative Works programme was launched to translate masterpieces of world literature. UNESCO’s support for the publication last year of a lexicon of words from indigenous languages of Mexico that are untranslatable into Spanish is a continuation of these efforts.Although their disappearance was predicted as early as the 1950s, translators – who are most often women – have never been as numerous as they are today. The machines developed in the aftermath of the war have not been able to outdo this behind-the-scenes profession. Nor have digital translation tools, which have become the standard feature of our globalized conversations, even if they have contributed to transforming the job.This is because language is more than just a means of communication. It is that, and much more. It is what written or oral works make of it, contributing to forge what is sometimes called the ‘genius of the language’, which the most powerful applications cannot restore.

Beyond these imperatives, we must also rethink the multiple interdependencies, the links between generations and between cultures, and our relationship with living beings, to establish a new social contract for education. De l’accès à l’autonomisation: Outils opérationnels pour promouvoir l’égalité des genres dans et par l’éducation سنة النشر: 2021 المؤلف المؤسسي: UNESCO Ce guide a été conçu pour renforcer la capacité individuelle et institutionnelle à intégrer de manière efficace l’égalité des genres aux programmes éducatifs. Ce guide a été préparé pour l’ensemble du personnel du Secteur de l’éducation de l’UNESCO, notamment pour celles et ceux travaillant au Siège, dans les bureaux hors Siège/régionaux/multipays et dans les instituts, ainsi que pour les partenaires d’exécution. Ce guide fournit des outils d’orientation et opérationnels pour intégrer efficacement le genre à tous les programmes relatifs à l’éducation. La première partie est une présentation succincte des concepts clés de l’égalité des genres dans et par l’éducation, et un aperçu de la manière dont l’égalité des genres dans l’éducation s’inscrit dans la vision de l’UNESCO et dans les objectifs fixés au niveau international. La deuxième partie fournit des conseils pratiques sur la manière d’intégrer l’égalité des genres aux programmes éducatifs, d’élaborer des programmes transformateurs et, enfin, de suivre et d’évaluer les résultats en matière de genre dans les programmes éducatifs.
