The international conference, organized within the framework of the national PRIN 2022 project Global Civic Education: Transforming Global Citizenship Education into Practice through Civic Education (GloCivEd), coordinated by the University of Bologna in partnership with the Universities of Roma Tre and Foggia, aims to open a space for reflection and dialogue on a topic that is central for today’s society and schools: the relationship between civic education and Global Citizenship Education.

The conference will take place over two days and will feature keynote lectures, roundtables and thematic panels with the participation of leading scholars as well as teachers and representatives from the school world.

  • The first day will be devoted to outlining the theoretical framework and the trajectories of Italian pedagogical research on Global Citizenship Education;
  • The second day will be dedicated to the presentation and discussion of the project’s empirical results, addressing issues related to educational policy, curricula, teacher training, as well as school practices and students’ perceptions.

The conference intends to position itself as a landmark event for the national academic community and as a unique opportunity to engage with prominent international scholars, teachers and school representatives, contributing to a culturally, socially and pedagogically significant debate for the construction of knowledge and innovative practices in the field of GCE.
