Under authoritarian rule, students were primarily taught to be docile subjects of the state—creative thinking was discouraged and information was treated as indisputable. Instead, students must learn from a very early age what it means to be citizens who seek and produce knowledge, question, and innovate. La educación en un mundo tras la COVID: Nueve ideas para la acción pública Año de publicación: 2020 Autor corporativo: UNESCO Las decisiones que se tomen en este momento en el contexto de la pandemia de COVID-19 tendrán consecuencias a largo plazo para los futuros de la educación. In this report the International Commission on the Futures of Education presents nine key ideas for navigating through the COVID-19 crisis and its aftermath, contending that we must build on core principles and known strengths as we face unprecedented disruption to economies, societies and education systems. In the renewal and reimaging of education human interaction and wellbeing must be given priority. Dans ce rapport, la Commission internationale sur Les futurs de l’éducation présente neuf idées essentielles pour dépasser la crise de Covid-19 et appréhender ses répercussions. Rapport dans lequel elle affirme également que nous devons nous appuyer sur des principes fondamentaux et des atouts connus alors que nous sommes confrontés à des perturbations sans précédent des économies, des sociétés et des systèmes éducatifs. Dans le renouvellement et le réaménagement de l’éducation, la priorité doit être donnée à l’interaction humaine et au bien-être. Cela doit également s’accompagner d’un engagement en faveur d’une solidarité mondiale qui refuse les niveaux d’inégalité qui caractérisent le monde actuel. 
Preventing Violent Extremism through Sport: Technical Guide; Criminal Justice Handbook Series Año de publicación: 2020 Autor corporativo: UN. Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) The Technical Guide on Preventing Violent Extremism through Sport, developed in consultation with international experts, recognizes the importance of promoting the well-being of children and youth. It applies an approach that encourages prosocial behaviour and good safeguarding and welfare practices, with particular emphasis on educational and social development measures in line with the United Nations Guidelines for the Prevention of Crime.The guide, addressed mainly to policy makers and implementing organizations, has been carefully designed to support effective integration of sport-based learning in primary prevention frameworks. By adopting a five-zone approach to prevent violent extremism namely safe space, empowerment, resilience, social inclusion and education, it supports informed policy development and a Theory of Change that can shape curriculum design and content. To further support global efforts in preventing violent extremism, UNODC is also developing an e-learning module and a practical tool for trainers that will be published soon and will complement this technical guide.

Cette convergence souligne l’importance de ces questions et l’urgence de mesures destinées à réparer le lien entre les citoyens et les institutions et, à travers l’éducation citoyenne de la jeunesse, à renforcer la cohésion nationale et à préparer l’avenir de notre démocratie. Au terme de ses travaux, la mission formule vingt-trois recommandations pour mieux éduquer et former à la citoyenneté, pour encourager une citoyenneté active par l’engagement, et pour repenser les pratiques démocratiques afin de rapprocher les citoyens – et plus particulièrement les jeunes – des institutions. Elle considère que ces questions doivent, à l’approche de la nouvelle législature, constituer une priorité pour les pouvoirs publics.

Pandemics, conflict, climate change, inequality – these are the issues defining their reality.Yet their potential to provide solutions to the multiple crises is not realized. From low representation and tokenistic approaches, to institutional obstacles to participation and limited civic spaces, young people are disconnected from influencing decisions and actions that affect their lives. They need real opportunities to participate in decision-making and contribute to practical solutions.Policy-makers, public officials and practitioners – as well as development sector and civil society actors – can and should create such opportunities for youth. This Toolbox is a comprehensive go-to resource to make that possible. It is intended to support these stakeholders in designing and implementing effective policies and programmes to address the multidimensional needs of youth at national and local levels.It consists of:• A guide for participatory youth policy design;• Intergenerational dialogue tools on holistic youth development and youth civic engagement; and• A training tool on meaningful youth engagement. Together, we can prove that youth perspectives matter.
