Research in Teaching and Learning About the Holocaust: A Dialogue Beyond Borders Año de publicación: 2017 Autor: Monique Eckmann | Doyle Stevick | Jolanta Ambrosewicz-Jacobs Autor corporativo: International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) | Metropol A multilingual expert team of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) collected and reviewed research on teaching and learning about the Holocaust in fifteen languages identified nearly 400 studies resulting in more than 600 publications.This systematic review includes research conducted in most IHRA Member Countries as well as several non-member countries. The multilingual focus of the project enables cross-cultural analyses and the transfer of knowledge between various regions and countries. The book’s two parts present the research first by language and then by selected themes. This innovative transnational, trans-lingual study reflects IHRA’s core mission: to shape and advance teaching and learning about the Holocaust worldwide.The second outcome is a set of bibliographies in fifteen languages. These bibliographies comprise references to empirical research on teaching and learning about the Holocaust. They also include abstracts or summaries of most of publications. Each bibliography includes research from a single language or related group of languages.

The guidebook was a culmination of reaching out to 2000+ youth, and integrating 130+ submissions from 57 countries.After analysing these voices and experiences, and supplemented by the literature, the guide put forth a set of tangible action guidelines for education stakeholders.In this abridged version, stakeholders will find a curated set of critical ideas and lessons gleaned from the full guide, designed to be as accessible as possible. The hope is that teachers, parents, mentors, school administrators, policymakers, and anyone else committed to realizing positive change will find these Action Guidelines an effective resource for guiding immediate and effective actions in their communities.The Action Guidelines for Prevention of Violent Extremism is designed to identify engagement opportunities for all stakeholders. Some require time, preparation, and resources. Others are small steps that will help create safer societies and stronger communities. No action is too small to contribute to building a more resilient and just world.

Buenos Aires, Berlín y Madrid han experimentado cada una un quiebre sísmico en el siglo XX: la última dictadura cívico-militar en Argentina (1976-1983), el franquismo en España (1939-1975) y la división en Alemania con la construcción del muro en 1961 y su caída en 1989.Reconocidas investigadoras e investigadores de universidades de Europa y América Latina estudian las construcciones de memorias en estas ciudades a través de las prácticas culturales y artísticas (cine, teatro, literatura, arte contemporáneo). Stories that allow us to process the ancestral pains of the Ixiles of the Mayan peoples of Guatemala. It refers us to whitewashed feminism and the difficulties it represents to listen to these women because of their vision drawn by the culture, which does not listen to their demands and does not know their history of struggle and the validity of their ideas. It evidences the importance of getting off the place of power conferred by the university, the institutionalized power and the political norms of the nation in order to establish a genuine dialogue.
