[Summary] Global Education Monitoring Report Summary 2020: Inclusion and Education; All Means All Année de publication: 2020 Auteur institutionnel: UNESCO | Global Education Monitoring Report Team The 2020 Global Education Monitoring Report looks at social, economic and cultural mechanisms that discriminate against disadvantaged children, youth and adults, keeping them out of education or marginalized in it. Spurred by their commitment to fulfil the right to inclusive education, countries are expanding their vision of inclusion in education to put diversity at the core of their systems. Yet implementation of well-meaning laws and policies often falters. Released at the start of the decade of action to 2030, and in the middle of the Covid-19 crisis, which has exacerbated underlying inequalities, the Report argues that resistance to addressing every learner’s needs is a real threat to achieving global education targets.

Encouragés par leur engagement à réaliser le droit à l’éducation inclusive, les pays élargissent leur vision de l’inclusion dans l’éducation afin de placer la diversité au cœur de leurs systèmes. Estimulados por su compromiso de hacer realidad el derecho a la educación inclusiva, los países están ampliando su visión de la inclusión en la educación y otorgando a la diversidad un lugar central en sus sistemas. Sin embargo, la aplicación de leyes y políticas bienintencionadas suele flaquear. El informe, publicado a principios del decenio de acción que culmina en 2030 y en el contexto de la crisis de Covid-19 que ha exacerbado las desigualdades subyacentes, sostiene que la resistencia a atender las necesidades de todos los educandos es una verdadera amenaza para el logro de los objetivos mundiales de educación.

Curriculum Development and Review for Democratic Citizenship and Human Rights Education Année de publication: 2016 Auteur institutionnel: UNESCO | Council of Europe | Organization of American States (OAS) | OSCE. Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights (ODIHR) Education for democratic citizenship and human rights education are vital for peaceful, sustainable and inclusive societies based on respect for the human rights of every person. Effective teaching and learning processes require well-trained teachers, positive learning environments and high-quality learning materials. This is underpinned by education policy, including curriculum development and review, which is the main focus of this book. The strengthening of education policies in the fields of education for democratic citizenship and human rights lies at the very heart of the efforts of the Council of Europe, the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, the Office for Democratic Institutions and Human Rights of the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe, and the Organization of American States. These organisations have jointly produced this publication in order to support states’ commitment to fostering citizenship and human rights education and improving access to quality education for all.
