Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development: a joint initiative by UNESCO and the government of India Année de publication: 2013 Auteur institutionnel: Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development (MGIEP) The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and the Government of India are embarking on a major new partnership to create the Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Education for Peace and Sustainable Development. Through research and capacity-building, the Institute aims to develop and promote new approaches to education, empowering learners to transform their lives and build a more peaceful and sustainable world. Based in New Delhi, this will be the first UNESCO specialized education Institute in India, and the first in the Asia-Pacific region. It is particularly fitting that the Institute is hosted by India, the birthplace of Mahatma Gandhi and a country that has made a significant commitment to education over the past decades.

An Investigation of Conflict Management in Cambodian Villages: A Review of the Literature with Suggestions for Future Research Année de publication: 2001 Auteur: Caroline Hughes Auteur institutionnel: Centre for Peace and Development, Cambodia Development Resource Institute This literature review sets out a conceptual framework for the investigation of conflict management in Cambodian villages, and gives suggestions for further research. It places the study of conflict and conflict management in the framework of ideas of a “culture of peace”, and argues that this requires examining questions of both active procedures (agency) and their context (structure) in responses to conflict.
Regional overview: Central and Eastern Europe and Central Asia Année de publication: 2015 Auteur institutionnel: UNESCO Central and Eastern Europe (CEE) and Central Asia (CA) have both made significant advances towards Education for All (EFA) since 1999. However, the 2015 EFA Global Monitoring Report shows that despite progress, Education For All remains unfinished business, including in Central and Eastern Europe and in Central Asia. This must be taken into account in the post-2015 agenda.
