Violence against Women, its forms and Legal Protection Mechanisms against it in light of Law No. 15-19 of 2015 Année de publication: 2020 Auteur: Houbah Abdel Qader,Awad Fateha Violence against women is a real appearance of a social phenomenon. It has been widespread in recent years since the beginning of this millennium, as violence in its material and moral appearance has become a real threat to all vulnerable groups in societies. Violence against women in all its forms is also considered a crime punishable by law, which requires combating, criminalizing it, and emphasizing its perpetrators. Since violence against women is a crime recognized today locally and internationally, most laws and legislations have come to condemn it. It also recognizes its serious, health and psychological effects on women specifically. This research paper discusses the forms of physical and moral violence practiced against her, and to identify the mechanisms adopted by the criminal Algerian legislator following the recent changes taking place in the Penal Code for the year 2015 in order to combat violence. Schools as Hubs for Social and Emotional Learning Année de publication: 2023 Auteur institutionnel: Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) Schools are perfect hubs for social and emotional learning, but are they ready for this task? To address this question, this Spotlight reports previously unpublished findings from the OECD’s Survey on Social and Emotional Skills (SSES) and discusses their implications for education policy and practice. Both an active promotion in schools and extensive learning opportunities for teachers on relevant topics provide a fertile ground for an effective social and emotional education. They boost teachers’ self-efficacy and use of active learning pedagogies, as well as quality relationships at school. The Spotlight also points to important differences for teachers of 10- vs. 15-year-old students that can explain higher skills at a younger age. Younger students benefit more often from key elements of an effective social and emotional education in school, i.e. the evaluation of their social and emotional skills and teachers teaming up with parents to reinforce skill promotion. Teachers of 10-year-olds are also more intensively trained and requested to promote social and emotional learning in their work. Campaign "Social Protections, an Essential Human Right!" Année de publication: 2021 Auteur institutionnel: International Labour Solidarity Centre Around the world, the COVID-19 pandemic has highlighted the inequalities in the individual and collective protection measures that societies had access to face the crisis. Unsurprisingly, we found that not everyone was equal in the face of the pandemic, quite the contrary. Countries with higher rates of social coverage and labor formalization have seen their populations much better prepared and equipped to deal with the aftermath. In contrast, places, where a large number of workers worked in precarious situations, suffered from an increase in the unemployment rate and a much higher rate of contagion. It is therefore with the current pandemic context in mind that the CISO has decided to set up the annual campaign under the theme of social protection for all, to raise awareness among the Quebec public about the precariousness of work. in the South and the North and the importance of social protection floors to protect the most vulnerable workers. Through this campaign, we want to present social protections not as a privilege but as an essential human right for all. 2018-2019: NO to Modern Slavery: Forced Labor, a Struggle to End Année de publication: 2019 Auteur institutionnel: International Labour Solidarity Centre The CISO has embarked with its partners on a three-year campaign against forced labour. In 2017-2018, he called for the ratification of ILO Convention 189 on the rights of domestic workers and publicized the violations of their rights here and elsewhere in the world. This year, it is tackling the task of making known the existence of forced labor in the agri-food and electronics sector in order to promote greater and effective mobilization against this scourge which offends the conscience and the rights of all workers in the world. Juvenile Justice: Analysis of Legislation and Judicial Practice of the Republic of Uzbekistan Année de publication: 2015 Auteur institutionnel: UNICEF Uzbekistan This publication was prepared within the framework of cooperation between UNICEF, the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and the Research Center on Democratization and Liberalization of Judicial Legislation and Ensuring the Independence of the Judicial System under the Supreme Court of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
