Education, Identity and Rising Extremism: From Preventing Violent Extremism to Promoting Peace, Resilience, Equal Rights and Pluralism (PREP) Année de publication: 2017 Auteur: Sanam Anderlini Auteur institutionnel: International Civil Society Action Network In November 2016, during ICAN’s fifth annual Women, Peace and Security forum, members of the Women’s Alliance for Security Leadership (WASL) and other women-led organizations in over 30 countries analyzed the role of formal and informal education in contributing to enabling conditions and mitigating extremist violence. They also highlighted their own practical experiences and lessons learnt in providing education to prevent violent extremism by fostering peace, resilience, equal rights and pluralism (PREP) in formal and informal spaces, including through the teachings of alternative religious narratives. Their experiences, combined with desk research on the state of current policy and practice, and the first multi-stakeholder Global Solutions Exchange (GSX) meeting on the nexus of education, gender and extremism held at the UNESCO headquarters in Paris in March 2017, inform the findings of this report. Learning to Live Together Sustainably: Addressing the Challenge of UN Sustainable Development Goal Target 4.7 Année de publication: 2019 Auteur: Margaret Sinclair | Jean Bernard Auteur institutionnel: Protect Education in Conflict and Insecurity (PEIC) | Spectacle Learning Media The practical advice and guidelines in this book help support learning to live together, conflict transformation and peace at the individual, group and community levels. The framework for developing widely accessible, high quality learning materials supports the UN Sustainable Development Goals and is relevant to formal and non-formal education activities and projects. This document also raises important issues about the professional responsibilities of policy-makers at global and national level, who determine what content is addressed in the classroom. In particular, it addresses the need for education materials that support cross-cutting issues such as learning to live together, global citizenship education, and education for sustainable development.  دليل لفائدة المكونين و الوسطاء لإستعمال " دليل شباب تونس في تعلم الديمقراطية " Année de publication: 2013 Auteur institutionnel: UNESCO Rabat The main aim of these manual and guide is to raise awareness among Tunisian youth about the values of democracy, human rights and responsible citizenship, and empower youth to make their voice heard during this critical period in the Tunisian democratic transition. Final report of the roundtable: challenges of education for peace, intercultural and inter-religious dialogue in Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan Année de publication: 2007 Auteur institutionnel: Union Century 21 (Georgia) The Roundtable Meeting was organized in Tbilisi in June, (24 -27) 2007. The meeting gathered participants of the ToT course in all three countries of the Caucasus, which happened to be a sort of “première” given the region’s tensions. It was important to bring together teachers and social workers from 18 regions of Georgia as well as from the neighboring countries like Azerbaijan and Armenia ( a total amount of 40 persons (some travelled at their own expenses). Civil Society was thus well represented and will be involved in project realization with a multiplier effect once they get back to the regions or countries. The tentative programme of the meeting identifies common challenges in this field and setting up of common action plan in addressing them. This was possible with the notable participation of a facilitator and the openness of those who attended this workshop. They were also keen to draw attention to the authorities from their educational systems to implement these grassroots activities so as to attract attention not only on a regional level but on the international level too and inform international organizations about the outcomes as well as the further steps planned. School of Psychology This article reports an effort to review the concept of school convivencia (peaceful coexistence, living together) in the Spanish context with the purpose of advancing into its clarification, and thus contributing to developing a common language in the Latin American region. The authors conduct a basic literature review oriented to identify the main theoretical approaches in the convivencia field. Subsequently, they analyze four studies focused in systematizing the prevailing approaches in the study of school convivencia. As a result, they propose a concept of convivencia from a social justice perspective adapted to education, and they operationalize it in three areas of school life: pedagogical-curricular, organizationaladministrative, and the socio-communitarian. This comprehensive notion of school convivencia may guide future research, educational initiatives, and school assessments in the convivencia field that may respond to the violence and pervasive social exclusion that exist in the Latin American region. The Planet and the 17 Goals Auteur: Margreet De Heer Auteur institutionnel: United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) UNICEF has teamed up with the Comics UnitingNations initiative to use the creative and exciting medium of comics to bring the messages of sustainable development to comics fans globally!
