Global Citizenship Education (GCE) for Unknown Futures: Mapping Past and Current Experiments and Debates ๋ฐํ ์ฐ๋: 2019 ์ ์: Rene Suลกa ๋จ์ฒด ์ ์: Bridge 47 This Bridge 47-commissioned report by Rene Suลกa provides a thorough overview of current debates and opportunities within the field of Global Citizenship Education (GCE). The report addresses the following questions: 1) What is the benefit of GCE to our societies? 2) What is the impact of GCE to our societies? and 3) Why do we believe that GCE is the answer to global challenges?The publication also maps GCE-related or GCE-inspired initiatives, projects and partnerships, and offers key findings from a comparative study of these cases. Additionally, Susa also further builds on the recent work of Vanessa Andreotti by elucidating her taxonomy of soft, radical and beyond reform spaces for GCE, as well as relates these to current (international) policy developments in the field.

Ministry for Foreign Affairs Global event Envision 4.7 was held in Helsinki in November 2019. The event brought around 200 people together to discuss ways to take the SDG Target 4.7 forward. In this report you can find summaries of all the speeches, panel discussions, workshops and working groups that were held at the event, together with a summary of discussions around all the different topics. Imagining a Post-COVID-19 Global Citizenship Education ๋ฐํ ์ฐ๋: 2020 ์ ์: Marta Estelles | Gustavo E. Fischman ๋จ์ฒด ์ ์: State University of Ponta Grossa The COVID-19 pandemic has created unprecedented conditions in all areas of social life and as the suspension of schooling became โthe new normal,โ numerous experts and opinion-makers rushed to voice their recommendations to overnments and educational organizations for normalizing schooling operations. In light of this worldwide crisis, we re-evaluate proposals to expand the model of Global Citizenship Education (GCE) that have received increasing attention and support from both international organizations, governments, and scholars.In this article, we argue that the predominately redemptive nature of GCE models and proposals since the mid-1990s cannot handle global problems associated with the current pandemic such as the restriction of citizenโs privacy rights or the strengthening of exclusionary nationalistic messaging. Instead, more realistic models of GCE are needed. This paper concludes with new questions to strengthen the debate and alternatives for imagining a non-redemptive and more realistic GCE. A medida que la suspensiรณn de las actividades escolares se ha convertido en "la nueva normalidad", numerosos expertos y formadores de opiniรณn se han apresurado a lanzar sus recomendaciones a gobiernos y organizaciones educativas para normalizar las operaciones escolares. En este contexto novedoso, analizamos las propuestas para expandir el modelo de Educaciรณn para la Ciudadanรญa Global (ECG) que estรก siendo cada vez mรกs apoyada por organizaciones internacionales, gobiernos y acadรฉmicos.En este artรญculo, sostenemos que la orientaciรณn redentora que los modelos y propuestas de ECG han desarrollado en las รบltimas dรฉcadas resulta muy limitada para entender y resolver problemas actuales como la restricciรณn de derechos de privacidad de la ciudadanรญa o el fortalecimiento de los nacionalismos excluyentes. En cambio, se necesitan modelos mรกs realistas de ECG. Este documento concluye con nuevas preguntas para robustecer el debate y las alternativas para imaginar una ECG realista y no redentora. GCE aims to foster peaceful, inclusive, tolerant, sustainable, and socially just societies; yet despite its centrality in international policy discourse and academic research, the impact of GCE on young peopleโs attitudes towards inequalities in society or human rights remains relatively unexplored.
