It seeks to reformulate traditional understandings of life skills and citizenship education in the region, while recalling fundamental questions about the purpose and role of education in societal development that are relevant to the current context.The LSCE Initiative focuses on three inter-locking challenges:An elusive knowledge society, as a result of poor quality of education, low levels of learning outcomes, and limited equity and inclusion.Declining economic growth, as a result of a lack of employability skills, high youth unemployment rates, gender disparities in accessing the labour market, lack of job creation, and a weak business environment.Weak social cohesion, as a result of mounting violence and radicalization as well as weak civic engagement.

Citizenship and Lifelong Learning Monitor 2018 Год публикации: 2019 Автор: Sara Gharsalli Организация-автор: SOLIDAR Foundation This Monitor is a contribution to further examine the relationship between citizenship and lifelong learning experiences and policy outcomes in and outside of the classroom in various European countries. Mapping the different approaches that SOLIDAR Foundation members have taken in promoting EU values in relation to citizenship education and lifelong learning for greater democratic participation of citizens, the outcomes will be disseminated towards European and national policy-makers and offers an array of best practices to collect, use and transfer among networks. The SOLIDAR Education and Lifelong Learning Forum will further work on the topic and develop a long term sustainable advocacy strategy for CSOs towards national and EU-wide authorities to influence the debate and revision of national curricula and education systems.

Guidelines to Strengthen the Right to Education in National Frameworks Год публикации: 2021 Организация-автор: UNESCO These Guidelines aim to strengthen national frameworks by assisting countries and stakeholders in conducting an assessment of the compatibility of their national education legal and policy framework with international standard-setting instruments on the right to education, and in light of SDG 4 commitments. These Guidelines provide a hands-on approach aiming to assist in the review of national education legal and policy frameworks in view of: Developing practical knowledge on the right to education based on the Right to education handbook and supporting capacity development Providing operational tools to assess the status of the right to education at country level and its compatibility with international and regional human rights obligations and international commitments (notably SDG 4) Identifying legal and policy gaps in education at country level and resulting challenges Making recommendations for the full alignment of national constitutions, legislation , singular and policies with international standards and provisions Providing insights on how to implement the recommendations in view of necessary reforms. 
Peacebuilding In Scenes of Violence Intracommunity: Sierra de la Macarena Case Study (Meta-Colombia) Год публикации: 2017 Автор: Keren Xiomara Marín Gonzales Организация-автор: Universidad de Antioquia After the signing of the peace accords between the national government and the FARC-EP one of the main challenges for the country is the construction of peace in the territories, especially in those places where violence has been political and intracommunitarian To explore the challenges that this type of violence poses in transition and post-conflict scenarios, this article analyzes local dynamics violence and the various victimization processes that arise within the communities. For this, some cases and testimonies collected in a ethnographic work carried out in the Sierra de la Macarena, department of Meta, Colombia, in which the dynamics of community violence and its effects on the social fabric of the communities. Based on these considerations, some limits that peacebuilding faces in this region and it is proposed as an alternative, the articulation between transitional justice and local justice to deal with these scenarios of violence.
