Guide education planners and practitioners to mobilize the GCED and SALH contents to contribute to the SADC vision of reconciliation, social cohesion, resilience, peace, solidarity, development, and freedom for future generations through promoting an education that equips young people with skills, values, knowledge, behaviours, and attitudes that critically and creatively address today’s local, national, regional, and global challenges through an inclusive lens. The objectives of this Roadmap are to: Provide general guidance and steps for the integration of SALH and GCED in curricula and teaching and learning practices in SADC member states; Provide articulations between the regional and local philosophical concepts and the GCED core values, such as ubuntu, to support a contextualized teaching of GCED values; Support countries to identify priority topics and steps towards integrating GCED and SALH in education policies in a manner that highlights the regional dimensions of liberation history, as well as universal values; Propose learning outcomes and competencies as well as teaching and learning approaches for GCED and SALH; Provide guidance on integration of GCED and SALH in teacher education programmes, as well as possible assessment methods.

This kit was prepared for all of those who want to ensure that “Education for All” does, indeed, include everyone! The kit will be especially valuable for policy makers, education practitioners and specialists who want to improve access to and quality of education for those excluded by language. It will also be helpful for speakers of ethnic minority languages who want to improve the education situation in their own communities.This kit is designed to raise awareness on the importance of mother tongue-based multilingual education (MLE). It presents key arguments and facts about MLE and provides important insights about the value and benefits of providing education in learners’ mother tongue. The kit also presents ideas, research findings and concrete examples that you can use to think about your own situation and suggests steps for taking actions to make your school system more responsive to linguistic diversity.The kit is not a definitive textbook, and it will not have an answer for every problem that you might face. To help you as much as possible, at the end of each booklet we have included lists of references. SDG 4 Data Digest 2020: Using Household Survey Data to Monitor SDG 4 出版年份: 2020 机构作者: UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS) The 2020 edition of the SDG 4 Data Digest by the UNESCO Institute for Statistics focuses on household surveys as an important and underutilized tool to collect the data needed to track progress towards Sustainable Development Goal 4 and to ensure that no one is left behind. The Digest describes existing survey programmes and offers advice on the design and implementation of new surveys. The Digest identifies a number of advantages to using household surveys and describes the categories of indicators best suited for monitoring with survey data. Data from household surveys complement administrative data collected in schools and can be disaggregated to a greater extent than administrative data to facilitate the monitoring of exclusion in education. The definitions and calculation methods of selected indicators are laid out and the combination of household survey data with data from other sources is explained. This issue of the Digest is aimed at government officials, national planners, donors and others who make decisions about the implementation of nationally representative household surveys. It describes the requirements for conducting a household survey and the steps that must be followed from questionnaire design to data collection and analysis, and it gives advice on presentation of the findings. A section on COVID-19 summarizes the impact of the current pandemic on data collection. Additional resources, with suggested survey questions for the collection of education data through household surveys, are also included.
