Online Antisemitism: A Toolkit for Civil Society Year of publication: 2022 Corporate author: Institute for Strategic Dialogue (ISD) | B’nai B’rith International | UNESCO This guide looks to build literacy among Jewish professionals, lay leaders and community members at large – as well as wider allies from across civil society – to tackle antisemitism online. Recognising the enormous capacity for positive action that the digital space offers, it aims to consolidate knowledge and provide a wide range of policy and community avenues for action.The guide provides an assessment of the online antisemitism threat landscape, an overview of existing policy responses on an international and national level across a range of European countries, and, importantly, a broad set of recommendations for engagement with governments, platforms and within communities to address these issues.
Where Do We Stand on Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship Education: Findings of the 7th Consultation on the Implementation of the 1974 Recommendation Concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education Relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms Year of publication: 2022 Corporate author: UNESCO The Recommendation concerning Education for International Understanding, Co-operation and Peace and Education relating to Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms was adopted by the 18th session of UNESCO’s General Conference in November 1974. Every four years, Member States are invited to report on the measures they have taken to implement the Recommendation in all levels and types of education from pre-primary to tertiary, formal, non-formal and adult education. This document summarizes the results of the 7th consultation on the implementation of the 1974 Recommendation, covering the period 2017-2020. It also contains, for the first time, data for the global indicator adopted by the UN Statistical Commission and the UN General Assembly for the monitoring of Target 4.7 of Sustainable Development Goal for Education.
UNESCO Strategy on Education for Health and Well-being Year of publication: 2022 Corporate author: UNESCO This strategy guides UNESCO to promote the physical and mental health and well-being of learners. By reducing health-related barriers to learning, such as malnutrition, early and unintended pregnancy, HIV and sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and violence and discrimination, UNESCO, governments and school systems can unlock the potential of all learners. The evidence for increased focus on the link between education and health is strong. Education strongly impacts health outcomes and health is equally fundamental to education. This calls for a more comprehensive approach to school health and more coordinated action across sectors.This revised and updated strategy is a roadmap for UNESCO to promote comprehensive sexuality education (CSE) and safe and inclusive learning environments, and place more emphasis on the role of schools and education systems in promoting health and well-being.

Teaching Life Skills and Citizenship in the Middle East and North Africa Year of publication: 2016 Corporate author: UNICEF Regional Office for the Middle East and North Africa The situation of learning in MENA calls for a holistic, lifelong and rights-based vision of education that maximizes the potential of all children and youth in the region and better equips them to create meaning out of knowledge and to face the transitions from childhood to adulthood, from education to work, and from unreflective development to responsible and active citizenship. This is what drives the MENA Life Skills and Citizenship Education (LSCE) Initiative, kicked off in 2015 with the aim of supporting the countries of the region – conceptually, programmatically and technically – to improve learning and to better invest such learning in individual, social and economic development.A set of twelve core life skills for MENA has been identified using the four-dimensional learning model: ‘Learning to Know’ (Cognitive Dimension), ‘Learning to Do’ (Instrumental Dimension), ‘Learning to Be’ (Individual Dimension), and ‘Learning to Live Together’ (Social Dimension). The twelve core life skills are life-long and build on evidence that underlines the importance of skills acquisition from an early age. Furthermore, the twelve core life skills are acquired and sustained through all forms of learning in a systems approach that recognizes multiple pathways of learning, formal, non-formal and informal.
